BMAC COMMITTEE HIGHLIGHTS

The Heritage and Archives Committee would like to acknowledge
the Social and Political Awareness Committee, chaired by Sorors
Nicole M. Brown and Patsy C. Nwagbaraocha, for registering over
200 new voters in the Baltimore City Community.  Their hard work
and dedication has impacted the lives of many.  Please read the
committee's profile that follows.

What are you and your committee doing to promote voter
education, voter registration, and voter mobilization?
The Social and Political Awareness Committee has hosted 3
successful Voter Registration Drives and have registered over 100
new citizens.  The committee has also developed a Voter
Education Brochure to inform the sorors of the Baltimore
Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter and the members of the
community about the myths and facts of voting.  The Social and
Political Awareness Committee will be encouraging the citizens of
Baltimore, Maryland to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 4,
2008 from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on the corners of Liberty Heights
Avenue and Reisterstown Road.

What is the one event that the committee has done that you think
has made a significant impact on Sorors and the City of Baltimore?
The one event that the Social and Political Awareness Committee
has done that has made a significant impact on Sorors and the City
of Baltimore are our Voter Registration Drives.  The committee
hosted three (3) successful Voter Registration Drives at The
Reisterstown Road Plaza, The Healthy Homes Festival and Security
Square Mall and we registered over 200 citizens.   

What does "Sowing the SEEDS" mean to you?
"Sowing the SEEDS" mean giving back to our community and
informing and educating them on the issues that are affecting the
citizens of Maryland.
